Facts About Traumatic Brain Injury

According to the Centers For Disease Control (CDC):

  • Over 1.4 Million Americans suffer a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) each year
  • That's 1 TBI every 21 SECONDS
  • 50,000 people die as a result of their brain injury
  • 90,000 suffer a permanent life-long disability
  • Conservatively, TBI's cost the U.S. Economy over $56.3 Billion annually

The Top Causes of TBI in the U.S.:

  • Falls
  • Motor vehicle accidents
  • Struck by or against
  • Assault
